With more than 25 years of experience in mortgage lending, Sofia has built her career around helping clients confidently navigate the complexities of California’s competitive luxury real estate market.
A recognized expert in owner-occupied bridge financing, Sofia specializes in structuring strategic loan solutions ranging from $1M to $15M. Under her leadership, Golden Gate Lending Group has closed nearly $1 billion in loans — a reflection of her commitment to precision, discretion, and exceptional client service.
Originally from Sweden, Sofia relocated to the Bay Area in 1995, where she discovered her passion for real estate finance while earning her MBA with a focus on Finance and Real Estate. Today, she resides in Tiburon with her husband Bob, a dentist, and their four children, Benjamin, Hannah, Simon, and Eliana.
Known for her warm yet highly strategic approach, Sofia has cultivated an extensive network of trusted advisors, real estate professionals, and financial partners. Born and raised in Marin County, Emma brings a deep understanding of the Bay Area real estate landscape along with a genuine passion for building strong connections within the brokerage and lending communities.
Emma joined Golden Gate Lending Group while completing her undergraduate degree, initially contributing to outreach initiatives and brand development. After graduating, she transitioned into a full-time role where she continues to help drive the firm’s growth through thoughtful relationship management, strategic marketing efforts, and event programming.
Today, Emma supports initiatives spanning agent engagement, digital marketing, and client experience. She works closely with the leadership team to strengthen the firm’s market presence while helping ensure that every interaction reflects Golden Gate Lending Group’s commitment to precision, professionalism, and white-glove service.

Don Bialkin
Don Bialkin brings decades of experience in real estate finance to his role at Golden Gate Lending Group. With a mortgage career that began in 1985, Don has developed deep expertise across multiple facets of the industry, including loan origination, account management, and product development within both retail and wholesale mortgage banking environments.
In recent years, Don has focused on private money lending, with particular specialization in buy-before-sell bridge loan solutions. His experience allows him to guide both clients and lending partners through complex financing scenarios with clarity, efficiency, and a solutions-oriented mindset.
Originally born in San Francisco, Don moved to Marin County at a young age and has maintained strong ties to the community throughout his career. After college, he returned to Marin to open a mortgage company alongside his father, marking the beginning of his lifelong commitment to the industry. He and his wife live in Marin and raised two daughters who both currently reside in Los Angeles.
As Director of Production & Broker Relations at Golden Gate Lending Group, Don plays a key role in supporting both consumers and mortgage broker partners. Known for his integrity, work ethic, and client-first approach, he is deeply committed to building trusted relationships and delivering financing solutions that serve the best interests of all parties involved.
