Golden Gate Lending Group wants this site to work for everyone who needs a bridge loan, including people who use a screen reader, navigate by keyboard, or need larger text. Much of our work is with homeowners who are downsizing or retiring, so this matters to us in practice and not only on paper.

What we have built in

Each item below was checked on this site rather than assumed:

Every page declares its language, so a screen reader pronounces it correctly.
Every image carries alternative text, and images that are decorative are marked as such so they are skipped rather than announced.
A "Skip to content" link is the first thing a keyboard user reaches on every page.
Keyboard focus is always visible as a gold outline, and the whole site can be operated without a mouse.
Animation is switched off for anyone whose device asks for reduced motion.
Pages use real headings in order, so a screen reader can jump through the structure.
Text reflows to a single column on a phone with no sideways scrolling, and it can be enlarged in the browser without content being cut off.
The buying power qualifier has a visible label on every field, explains any problem in words right beside the field it concerns, and moves your focus to each new step and to your result.

The standard we are working to

We are working towards the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 at level AA. We have not yet had an independent audit against that standard, so we are not claiming full conformance. When that audit happens we will say so here, and we will list anything it finds that we have not yet fixed.

Known gaps

Video on this site does not yet have captions or a transcript. We are adding both.
Some older blog posts were carried over from our previous site and have not been individually reviewed.
